Marina and The Diamonds On Neon Froot and Quitting Music
Following a string of spectacular live summer festival appearances across the globe, Marina and The Diamonds is set to hit the road for her long-awaited headline tour in support of the excellent new album, Froot.
New dates for February 2016 in London, Glasgow and Manchester.
Today the singer took to Social Media to talk to fans in her regular FAQin’ Hell video chat. Marina picked a wide range of fan questions; from trolling fans online, selfies with her boyfriend to overcoming personal issues, the upcoming tour and quitting music. But first things first: We get new dates for London, Glasgow and Manchester in February 2016.
New UK shows announced
In the latest instalment of her online fan chat, FAQin’ Hell, the I’m Not A Robot singer revealed the unprecedented demand for tickets came a bit as a shock and prompted the addition of extra shows for February 2016 at the O2 Academy Glasgow (16), O2 Academy Manchester (18), and The Roundhouse in London (20).
When tickets to Marina and The Diamonds’ upcoming Neon Froot tour went on-sale in July, her UK and Ireland shows sold-out in near record time. The Marina and The Diamonds tickets for the new February shows will go on pre-sale 9am Wednesday, 16 September and the general on-sale will be at the same time Friday, 18 September.

Neon Froot: A Show in Three Acts
Always one to make her concerts more of a spectacle than a mere gig, fans were told of the Neon Froot show’s narrative. The concerts will be split into three acts with each act dedicated to one of Marina and The Diamonds’ albums; Family Jewels (2010), Electra Hart (2012) and her latest offering, Froot (2015). “Each act will represent the era visually,” disclosed Marina, “but also, I will be playing my favourite songs from each era.” Marina and The Diamonds, aka Marina Diamandis, stopped short revealing the setlist but hinted that fans are in for a treat.
New song, New Vinyl Releases
Marina first found fame through the then pioneering Social Media site My Space, later she took the chatter to Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr and is known for being occasionally a little too outspoken when online. In one such outburst the Welsh-born singer mentioned that a new, unreleased song titled I’m Not Hungry Anymore would be included on an upcoming repackaged version of her latest album, Froot. The song title instantly fuelled speculations the singer might be contemplating to retire from the music business. When asked about the whereabouts of said tune, Diamandis answered that she is still working on the song. “I’m undecided about ‘Hungry’;” Marina, who is currently dating Clean Bandit’s Jack Pattison explained, “Basically I’m not 100% happy with it yet. So, I can’t give it to you.” While this means that Froot won’t get its promised repackaged re-release, she did confirm that all her studio albums will be made available on vinyl.
The End. Marina to Retire From Touring?
This inevitably led to fans wanting to know about her plans to retire from touring.
“I don’t know what the future holds. (…) I guess, I will have some sort of break after that.” – Marina Diamandis (2015)
While not entirely denying the rumours, Marina addressed the question and confirmed she is indeed currently reassessing her approach to the write-record-release blues most artists are going through. “Marina and The Diamonds music has been my goal for half of my life since I was 15.” lamented Marina Diamandis during the video chat. “I don’t know what the future holds. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.” “However,” she continued, “I do know that (…) I will be on the road until October (2016). So, I guess, I will have some sort of break after that and I will let you know when I know what I’m gonna do.” There you have it. Marina and The Diamonds will be touring for at least another year and let’s just hope she will find the time to work on a few cracking new tunes – and maybe another Charli XCX collaboration…?
