Coldplay ask to play Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball
Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland were over at the Capital FM headquarters for an interview about their new album and song, and before long they asked presenters Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon if they could play the annual Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball that takes place in December.
In a clip from the interview, the video shows Coldplay asking to perform at the ball after Jonny Buckland and Chris Martin realised they were free on Saturday 5 December – the first day of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball.
After forgetting the names of the other members of Coldplay (Guy Berryman and Will Champion, if you wondered) – and deciding that it would be okay with them – they asked Capital if they could perform at the ball.
Later on in the interview, live on air, Capital confirmed Coldplay would join Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball line-up, performing on Saturday 5.
Held at London’s The O2 across two days on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball is one of the biggest pop events of the year.
Coldplay join Jason Derulo, Arianna Grande, Years & Years, Jess Glynne, Nathan Sykes and David Guetta on the Saturday bill.
Justin Bieber, Little Mix, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Nick Jonas, Sigma and Charlie Puth will perform on the second and final night of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball on Sunday 7 December.
Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball tickets are now on sale for both days.
